“Sunsetting” is a term being used in various industries to describe when a product is being phased out. While being a lovely word, which brings to mind a beautiful postcard picture, in reality it means that a system or component of a system will stop working after its “sunset” or expiration date.
Currently we have about 100 or so clients who have cellular communicators that need to be replaced by the end of the year. If you have received a phone call in this regard, please give us a call back to discuss and schedule the work that needs to be done. It takes about one half hour to complete and our schedule will remain as flexible as possible to get it taken care of.
Going forward we expect more and more of the technological devices that could require updating will be designed to be updated without needing to replace physical components. These updates are being designed to be done remotely over our landline or cell connection, and or via a PC / computer connection. The changeover to software based components is both a convenience and a challenge when it comes to software versus hardware updates and improvements.
If you have any questions regarding these changes or the idea of using and relying on cellular communications versus your landline connection, please feel free to give us a call at Advent!
