Is a security system really necessary?

Is the alarm system hardwired or wireless?
Although traditionally Advent Security has installed hardwired components for most of its customers we can and do sometimes use wireless components as well. The decision process is based on the design and construction of the home or business in addition to the preference of the customer.
How does the alarm system communicate with the central station?
Alarm systems require a phone line or communication device of some sort to allow the system to communicate with the Alarm Monitoring Station. The options vary and most are compatible with the alarm system. If you plan to switch phone providers it is imperative that you check with Advent first to insure that it is compatible. You should also test the communication of the system before the phone/cable technician leaves your home. If you plan to CANCEL your phone line, contact Advent to discuss the other options available.
Why isn’t the alarm system FREE?
Advent’s goal is to design and install an alarm system that will detect and /or deter a burglar from entering a home or business. Although we have some low cost, cookie-cutter system packages, our security consultants are trained to go over your needs and custom design a system for a fair price.
How much does an Advent alarm system cost?
We custom design an alarm system based on each client’s life style and needs. Typically a custom designed alarm system costs between $500 and $1000.
If I have an existing system, can Advent Security do the monitoring?
Advent has a vast knowledge of the equipment that has been used over the past 35 years, allowing us to reprogram, repair, and replace if necessary, your equipment so that it will communicate with our central station.
Can an alarm system at my home save me money?
YES, typically insurance companies give a 10 to 20% discount to homeowners that have a central station monitored alarm system. The discount ranges due to the type of components you have installed such as smoke and temperature sensors.
Where is your central monitoring station located?
Our U.L. listed central monitoring station is located at a secure location in Pennsylvania. It is professionally staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year. We maintain the highest level of security as well as the U.L. required back up emergency generators.
What guarantees do you offer?
Advent Security offers a one year warranty on the parts and installation of the alarm system. This is typically 9 more months than the manufacturers guarantee.
