Is a security system really necessary?

The number of burglaries is on the rise especially during the daytime hours when you are not at home.  A home with an alarm system is a less likely target for burglars.  If an attempt is still made at your home or business, the alarm will sound and we will notify the proper authorities.

Is the alarm system hardwired or wireless?

Although traditionally Advent Security has installed hardwired components for most of its customers we can and do sometimes use wireless components as well.  The decision process is based on the design and construction of the home or business in addition to the preference of the customer.

How does the alarm system communicate with the central station?

Traditionally the alarm system has been connected to your regular phone line.  However, since the technology of cellular phones, cable and FIOS, Advent has been able to adapt to monitor the alarm system though a variety of services.  Additionally, if there is no phone service in the home or business, we have stand alone cellular equipment that can be used for the communication of the alarm system only.

How much does an Advent alarm system cost?

Typically an alarm system cost between $500 and $1000.  We tailor design an alarm system based on each clients life style and needs.

Why isn’t the alarm system FREE?

Advent Security sells you the alarm system designed to fit your needs.  You own the equipment installed and we charge a lower monthly fee.  Companies that sell/install a system for free typically give you a cookie-cutter system with a limited number of components; they maintain ownership of the equipment and then charge a higher monthly fee.

If I have an existing system, can Advent Security do the monitoring?

YES, Advent has a vast knowledge of the equipment that has been used over past 3o years, allowing us to reprogram, repair, replace if necessary, and your equipment so that it will communicate with our central station.

Can an alarm system at my home save me money?

YES, typically insurance companies give a 10 to 20% discount to homeowners that have a central station monitored alarm system.  The discount ranges due to the type of components you have installed such as smoke and temperature sensors.

Where is your central monitoring station located?

Our U.L. listed central monitoring station is located at a secure location in Pennsylvania.  It is professionally staffed 24 hours a day 365 days a year.  We maintain the highest level of security as well as the U.L. required back up emergency generators.

What guarantees do you offer?

Advent Security offers a one year warranty on the parts and installation of the alarm system.  This is typically 9 more months than the manufacturers guarantee.
